WHY MIXED PLASTIC SORTING FACILITY
Mixed plastic sorting facilities reduce environmental pollution and save raw materials by sorting recyclable plastic waste according to their types. These facilities contribute to a sustainable economy by saving energy thanks to the reprocessing of plastics.
PLASTIC SORTING CONSISTS OF 4 MAIN STEPS
- Collection and transportation: Plastic waste is collected from various sources and transported to the facility for processing
- Sorting and Pre-Cleaning: Collected waste is separated according to color, density, and type. At this stage, foreign materials (lid, label, metal parts, and dirt) are also separated.
- Shredding and Washing: Separated waste is turned into small pieces. Shredded Plastic is washed with hot water and various cleaning solutions to remove sticky residues, oils and other dirt.
- Drying and Burring: Cleaned and sorted plastic parts are dried, then packaged and made ready to be reused as raw material.
